Chris Garneau简介

Chris Garneau是个创作型歌手，1983年出生在波士顿并在那里长到8岁，然后在巴黎和家人住过几年，之后在搬到纽约之前在新泽西州居住并在那里上中学。6岁的时候学习钢琴的时候发现自己对音乐的爱好，高中时开始对音乐剧着迷，并且后来为百老汇获得托尼奖的Sring Awakening工作过一段时间。其实高中之后Garneau在餐馆里打工（relief的MV场景设置就是在酒吧里当招待，别的MV也基本上都是在酒吧（餐馆？）里拍摄的）。那个时候他18岁，也就是一般18岁都会遇见到的一些事情。Garneau当时感觉十分焦虑，压力和恐慌，曾经有一次感觉自己是心脏病发作。在餐馆工作自然是很压抑和让人烦恼的。
首张专辑《Music for Tourists》由Absolutely Kosher records在2006年十月发行，他温软独特的声音得到一部分人的追捧作为一名出柜的gay，Garneau表明他的性取向并没有直接影响到他的音乐。
Garneau 最早也是在myspace推出自己的单曲not nice。目前第二张专辑在06年8月就开始制作。访谈中Garneau表示专辑的录制过程非常辛苦且单调，为了保持真实和活力必须不断的进行重复编辑。自觉在歌曲写作方面有所进步，第二张专辑的录制的质量和设备有了改善。Garneau说第一张专辑《》对于他自己来说过于质朴，但真得很干净。他并不喜欢那时那个钢琴的声音，有时候太过优美。第二张专辑用的钢琴是一架70年代的 Yamaha，“有点怪，声音的边缘有点粗犷，就是更有机。第二张专辑他不想留下任何遗憾，里面加入了更多的乐器，钢琴会有所减少。鼓和打击乐器的应用会超过半数歌曲以上。大概只有两首会只有钢琴和人声。
另外，在访谈中总是被问及和gay有关的事情时，Garneau并没有表示出不满，并说明这也不是唱片公司Absolutely Kosher的营销策略。但他承认他的确有一些gay追随者，不过只占少数，主要听他的人从十几岁的少女到几十岁的雅皮都有。一些queer乐队都有话要说，他自己也一样，不过并没有那么大声。这也不是他做音乐的根据。
